History of the Church

Graceland Baptist Church was planted on March 15, 2015, through the missions and Evangelistic activities of the then Ogbomoso Shiloh Baptist Association in a revival led by Rev Dr. A. Adejuwon from Ogun State. The Ogbomoso Shiloh Baptist Association inherited a landed property from the Ogbomoso North East Baptist Association around Aaduin area. The association decided to plant a church on the land since it was a new site with no Baptist Churches around. After the revival program, a proper church service began in one of the flats built by the Ogbomoso Shiloh Baptist Association, held on Sundays, with each church in the association sending members to worship at the preaching station. The association requested a student Pastor from the seminary to serve in the church, and Pastor Peter Adekambi was sent. Upon his graduation from the seminary in 2016, Rev Ogunwobi was called as an interim bi-vocational pastor to shepherd the church. Rev Dr. Matthew Ogunwobi died on May 19th, before the close of his term as interim pastor in June 2019. The association continued to send members to coordinate worship services. On January 1, 2019, the Ogbomoso Shiloh Baptist Association split into two — the Ogbomoso Rehoboth Baptist Association and Good Shepherd Baptist Association. Graceland Baptist Church fell under the Ogbomoso Rehoboth Baptist Association. On July 1, 2019, the Ogbomoso Rehoboth Baptist Association called Pastor Adedeji Fodeke into the pastorate of the church. The church has since grown both spiritually and numerically to the glory of God. The church conducted Baptismal services twice — in 2020 and 2024. The church was formally organised on August 18, 2024, under the Nigerian Baptist Convention, the Ogbomoso Baptist Conference, the Ogbomoso Baptist Association, and the Ogbomoso Rehoboth Baptist Association.
